"Half-Life 3" Closure

Late last week, fans of the acclaimed "Half-Life" series received a little bit of closure after a decade of waiting for "Half-Life Episode 3." This continuation of the franchise was supposed to release in 2007, but its release date was constantly pushed back until Valve, the creator of "Half-Life" and the Steam service, no longer gave updates on the game and would dodge around questions pertaining to it.

Fans received a semblance of closure when former head writer for the franchise, Marc Laidlaw, posted on his blog a name swapped story with very obvious calls to the game series. I think this is a very great thing for fans of the series. It was always unfortunate that Valve would never discuss the game for around a decade and would just leave fans hanging, especially when it was one of the reasons the company became as popular as it was in the first place. As a fan of the series, I know I may not be getting to play the game and finish the franchise that way, but I am glad that I was able to at least read this synopsis of the overall story and see how this part of the series was meant to end.
