ONU-Tube
Ohio Northern University has been lacking a big piece of the multimedia puzzle for the past several years, but during the second half of last year and beginning of this year, this piece has finally been added to the puzzle. The piece missing was television. For about six years, the ONU TV station has been unused, but last year students began working on consistently producing content for a class.
Now the station is finally opening up fully again and is getting ready to implement a steady stream of content again. At the moment, the station consists of a professor, a couple of students working to rebuild, myself included, and a backlog of student produced videos.
We have plans to produce a monthly news show and several other regular forms of journalistic type content, but we are also looking for new content to add to the backlog. We have several ideas, such as talk shows, comedy type shows, and updates on events that are taking place at the school. My question to all of you readers is, what type of content would you like to see produced on the station? We want to make the station integral to the student body as a source of information and entertainment and asking this question is one way I see us achieving this goal.
This is so exciting! I love to hear about this starting on campus and really getting things going again. As you mentioned, a steady stream of content is a great mindset to have. I would love to see recaps from fun events, but also promo videos for things coming up. Seeing a winning shot from a big basketball game would be really cool content. However, it would also be great to have a video source of things going on around campus that you can check out after watching a short video of what usually goes on there. Thanks for putting your time and effort into ONU-Tube!
ReplyDeleteHey Connor. I new here at ONU and I never knew that we had a channel. But now that I do it sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great plan! Do whatever is necessary to enhance the television program here at ONU. We look forward to it!
