Another Book Finished

This week, we finished reading the "Social Media Marketing Workbook." Compared to our last book, "The Art of Social Media," it went into far more detail and was a much more comprehensive book. I personally feel that it was more helpful in understanding social media and how it can be helpful to businesses and people because of the level of detail that it went into. It felt more like an actual guide to social media, and I know "The Art of Social Media" said that no one is a social media guru, but I feel that because of that mentality, the book just felt like an overview of websites instead of giving insight into how they worked and how businesses could influence them for their benefit.

This is the main reason that I feel the "Social Media Marketing Workbook," was able to set itself apart and provide more useful information, and that isn't even mentioning the worksheets or activities that the book would tell you to do as you read to make sure you were understanding what was being told to you and how it could help you. And while there isn't a guaranteed strategy that will work for a social media platform, I do think there are a few consistent ways that a lot of content creators and businesses get their messages seen by the public, and that is what the workbook tried to show its readers. It tried to show ways that successful users of social media had succeeded on platforms, and also touched on how they could improve. While there may not be a perfect way to approach social media, it doesn't mean that there aren't tried and true methods that work consistently, and would work as general tips for new users to learn from.
